Methods Of Documentation And Measured Drawings

INTRODUCTION:

In this short semester, we are going to measure a existing building and document it as report. With a group of 15 people or above, we have to produce all the CAD drawings, Documentary Report of the building, Cultural and History Response Video and Individual Sketches Journal.

Our Building is Lim Ko Pi, from Ipoh.

In this project , we require to sketch minimum 10 pages of sketches at our site, it is an on-site exercise where we have to sketch and documents all about the site context and our building. From the micro site till the details ornamentation, to sense the element and the cultural or history of that site too.

We are require to sketch according the aspects below:

1. Plan, Section & Elevation
2. The Genius Loci 
3.  Poetic Quality 
4.  Cultural Attributes 
5.  Technical / Construction Details

BUILDING VIDEO AND REPORT & PHOTOBOOK

Introduction:

Other than that we are required to sketcht our site,we have to shoot a short video to express the history or cultural response of the Site Context and also our buildings itself. 

On the other hand, we are required to collect Information and also the site documentary to produce a understanding report and the architecture style of our building.

CAD DRAWINGS AND MODEL

Introduction:

LASTLY , Cad Drawings as our main purpose of this module course. When we have done all the measurement on the site and we have to use the AUTOCAD software to cad all the drawings, such as Floor plans, Elevations, Detail Drawings and Section and etc. 

After we have completed and finalised our Cad drawings, we have to make physical model according to the drawings with certain scale.

Our model is scale 1 : 50

Reflection:

During this module, I have learned how to measure in a proper and some of the measurement method. I learned about Autocad software in this module too. I have learned about the structural detail of the building and the details of beautiful ornamentation. I also realised that how cultural and history influence a building base of the story behind it.
